I’ve been painting and adding some special pieces around our home. After living in our first home together for almost 7 months now…I’m finally starting to feel like it’s “our home”. It’s been fun and a challenge to take all that we had before we married, the things we received as wedding gifts and try to make it all work in the largest square footage that we’ve lived in since we left home for College.
First, I wanted to share with all of you a painting I did last night. It was inspired by my favorite view and picture from our Honeymoon:
Here it is:
Right now the picture is gracing a wall in our guest bedroom above my great aunt’s old bookshelf (with a couple fun accessories around it).
And here’s the rest of the Guest Bedroom:
I finally got drapes! Yay!
I think the Honeymoon painting goes perfectly with the rest of the room!
And by “adding special touches” this is for sure one of them. My mom sewed the picture above and I remember it hanging in the hallway of my grandparents home growing up. Such special memories of this! It works perfectly in the hallway leading to the Guest Bedroom.
Added these lovely keys hanging in our Guest Bathroom.
Added these lovely birds above the toilet. How cool is the calendar? We received this as a wedding gift and you change out the art for every month in 2013.
And how neat is this tin damask wall art?
And our entrance hall just got a lot cooler with the album covers of “Your Song” by Elton John. This was the song we danced our first dance to at our wedding and my amazing sister in law gave these to us for Christmas.
One day I hope to give a full house tour on the blog! Until then I’ll show you bits and pieces as I add/remove until I get it just right.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
